Objective
The Creature Mark Poster objective was to portray the distinctive characteristics as well as the personality traits of  an animal. Upon development of the creature, the final step was to integrate the mark into a typographic poster that the division of space was guided by the Fibonacci Sequence.
Research
The first step was to familiarize with the unique characteristics and features of the Red Panda. Looked into tangible and intangible traits that would be important when designing the creature. The Red Panda was chosen because of its playful yet calm personality paired with the lovable soft facial features and striped fluffy tail.
Tangible Trait
Large Oval-Round Face
Ringed Tail
Distinctive Eyebrows
Unique Striped Face
Intangible Traits
Playful
Curious
Shy
Docile

Sketches
Played around with sketching different angles and positions, paper and pencil. Made sure to pay attention to detail on the attributes chosen to highlight knowing those tangible characteristics would aid in revealing the intangible ones.
Digital Iterations
Translated sketches digitally in Illustrator. Had to nail down the orientation of the tail and head with proportions to ensure it was balanced. Chose to have the red panda sit with its tail up and tilted head to emphasize calmness, curiosity and fascination to play.
Final Creature Mark
Introduction of Typographic Poster Phrase
It was time to brainstorm a phrase to best describe the tangible and intangible traits of what the creature mark was initially created to represent. The phrase used for the poster was, "Playful and Curious, Calm and Reserved, A striped red panda round and curved."
Poster Sketches and Translations
Took a step back and went paper and pencil for the poster design. Kept the Fibonacci Sequence in mind when sketching ideations. Focused on the environment of where the Red Panda could most likely be found and then used illustrator for digital translation.
Color Exploration
Integrated color with a Secondary Harmony Color Palette to capture the bamboo green that would create the atmosphere, darker purple to contrast the green for the typography and the burnt orange of the red panda. Played around to balance the composition among the three colors.
